Little French Girls

I have been the happy host to Emily and Mariel for the past few days.  They are studying in Paris and are on spring break in Italy this week.  The only thing we have done so far is eat and shop.  Not bad.  I love having visitors and the timing really worked out. I don't have a busy week this week so I have been able to spend a lot of time with them.  Yesterday, we went to Venice on a whim and spent the day getting lost and crossing bridges.  We had a blast and the weather was perfect.  We saw San Marco, the main church in Venice and we got tickets to see the museum inside. When we walked into one room Emily blurted out "Wow! There is a lot of crap in there!" Emily makes me miss home but in a good way.  We have been talking a lot about home but I think that is because we have had no one to talk about home with in a while.  While neither of us are ready to go back to America just yet, we are also excited to see everyone. It's also nice showing people around Italy.  They got to meet my roommates and my friends and still cannot believe that I live with 8 guys. But obviously they love it! I shipped them off to Florence today without a place to stay.  They said if worst comes to worst they will sleep in a park. Just kidding! They went to see some other friends and they will be back tomorrow night.  Well, I hope so!

Ho ospitato Emily e Mariel per gli ultimi tre giorni.  Loro studiano a Parigi e stanno in Italia per vacanza.  Abbiamo mangiato e fatto shopping.  Niente di più.  Ma non è stato male.  Mi piace a ospitare amici e non ho molto da fare questa settimana, qundi è stato perfetto.  Ieri abbiamo deciso di andare a Venezia all'ultimo minuto e abbiamo passato il giorno caminando e attraversando i canali e piccole strade di Venezia.  Il tempo è stato perfetto e abbiamo passato un bel giorno.  Abbiamo visto la Bascillica di San Marco e siamo andate dentro a vedere il museo.  Mi manca la mia casa perchè Emily ed io parliamo molto di Chicago.  Sono cresciuto con lei.  Non siamo pronte per ritornare a Chicago ma ci manca e siamo pronte per vedere i nostri amici.  Emily e Mariel hanno conosciuto i miei coinquillini e i miei amici a Bologna e non credevano che abitassi con otto ragazzi.  Ma ovviamente ciò piace a loro. Sono andate a Firenze oggi senza un posto dove dormire.  Loro hanno detto che potevano dormire nel parco se non trovano niente.  Scherzo!  Sono andate per incontrare altri amici e ritornono domani sera.  Spero!
